BATESVILLE, Ind., December 4, 2017 – Batesville Casket and its parent company, Hillenbrand, Inc. (NYSE: HI), hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today to mark the opening of a new Health and Wellness Center in Manchester, Tennessee. The new center will offer a wide range of services, including primary and urgent care, occupational health, as well as weight management and health coaching to eligible employees and their dependents. Operated by QuadMed, a leading provider of employee-sponsored health care and wellness solutions, this independent facility provides easy access to high-quality care delivered by a staff of medical professionals.
The event was hosted by Batesville and Hillenbrand executives, members of the company’s leadership team and representatives of QuadMed. Following brief remarks by John Linville, Vice President of Supply Chain for Batesville Casket, Matt Rehmann, Director of Client Services for QuadMed and special guest, John Chobanian, Vice President of Operations with the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness in Tennessee, attendees were invited to tour the new facility.
A number of city and county officials, members of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Board and other local businesses joined in the celebration.
“We are so excited to be here today with the QuadMed team to officially open this new facility, and bring convenient, quality care to our employees and their families,” said John Linville, Vice President of Supply Chain for Batesville.
Linville explained the center is not designed to replace the company’s traditional health plans, but to provide additional services for employees and their families who are already covered by a company health plan, without the traditional burdens of time, cost and bureaucracy. All services and generic medications are available at no cost to eligible Batesville employees and their dependents.
Convenience is a key benefit. In fact, Linville noted that people can arrive, be seen by a doctor or nurse practitioner, receive medications and be out the door in less than an hour – without having to worry about co-pays, insurance forms or going to the pharmacy to pay for and pick up medications.
The Health and Wellness Center is independently managed and staffed by QuadMed professionals. All medical records, patient histories and treatment plans are completely confidential. Batesville covers all costs for services delivered at the center as an added benefit for its workers.
Since opening its first Health and Wellness Center in 2010 at the corporate headquarters in Batesville, Indiana, the company has seen improvements in areas where employees have access to preventive care and maintenance medications – from lower healthcare claims and improved medical compliance, to lower absenteeism rates.
Currently, the center’s services are available exclusively to Batesville employees. However, QuadMed offers a unique sharing model that would allow other industrial companies to provide access to the health center for their employees. Local industries and organizations interested in learning more about the center can contact Gary Raikes, email@example.com or at 317.752.5151.
