Digital solutions create better experiences for funeral directors and families 

BATESVILLE, IN, March 27, 2017 – As funeral and cemetery professionals convene in Nashville, Tennessee for the 2017 International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) Convention and Expo, April 5 – 8, the stage is set for attendees to improve their knowledge in four crucial areas: business, relationships, marketing, and personal success. Batesville has something to offer in each of these areas.

The company will showcase a variety of innovative and practical offerings designed to enhance the funeral planning experience. A longstanding supporter of ICCFA, Batesville is also proud to sponsor the keynote address by Seth Mattison, “Building Better Connections in the Digital Age,and invites attendees to a free book signing with the author following his session.

Batesville offers a myriad of technology solutions that can be used in the back office, as well as the arrangement conference, the selection room, and in how funeral directors engage with families before, during and after the service. One of the most popular is its Meaningful Selections digital merchandising system, which now includes interactive personalization, or dynamic imaging capabilities, to provide realistic, real-time images of personalized caskets. Families select the personalization elements that represent their loved one, apply them to the digital product image and instantly see what the finished product will look like.

“This allows families to feel more engaged and comfortable during the selection process and minimizes potential confusion during an intensely stressful time,” said Turner. The system displays images from multiple angles to provide a complete view of the product. Images can be saved, printed or emailed to others to aid in the selection process.

Technology can be just as powerful in driving efficiency in the back office. The first true cloud-based case management platform, MIS Pro, streamlines many of the complex and redundant back-office processes that add time, but little value, to funeral home operations. MIS Pro empowers funeral professionals by creating a fully-connected environment where data is entered once, then shared with other systems, and where tasks like creating a video tribute, printing stationery, scheduling a newspaper obit, or posting service information online can be completed in just a few keystrokes. Experts will be on hand to demonstrate the benefits of MIS Pro and other web-based solutions.

Rounding out its exhibit, Batesville will have a variety of new burial, cremation and memorialization products on display, including several wood caskets that are designed to serve the needs of both burial and cremation families.

ICCFA attendees are invited to attend a free book signing with keynote speaker and author Seth Mattison, from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 6. The first 100 people will receive a free autographed copy of Mattison’s latest book The War at Work.
